  • Ari Berman

Journalist and Author of the new book, Minority Rule: The Right-Wing Attack on the Will of the People—and the Fight to Resist It

The mob that stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, represented an extreme form of the central danger facing American democracy today: a blatant disregard for the will of the majority. But this crisis didn’t begin or end with Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Through voter suppression, election subversion, gerrymandering, dark money, the takeover of the courts, and the whitewashing of history, reactionary white conservatives have strategically entrenched power in the face of a massive demographic and political shift. Ari Berman charts these efforts with sweeping historical research and incisive on-the-ground reporting, chronicling how a wide range of antidemocratic tactics interact with profound structural inequalities in institutions like the Electoral College, the Senate, and the Supreme Court to threaten the survival of representative government in America.

Copies of Minority Rule will be available for sale!

  • Josh Riley

Candidate for US House of Representatives in NY19, running to unseat MAGA Republican Marc Molinaro in one of the closest congressional races in the country

A fifth-generation Upstate New Yorker, Josh was born-and-raised in a working-class neighborhood where he saw his community struggle while Wall Street enjoyed soaring corporate profits. As a policy analyst at the Department of Labor, Josh worked to revitalize communities hurt by bad trade deals that shipped jobs overseas. And after graduating from law school, he turned down offers on Wall Street to represent the American Academy for Pediatrics in a landmark civil rights lawsuit to help kids from low-income families get access to the healthcare they need. As general counsel to US Senator Al Franken on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Josh worked on legislation to restore the Voting Rights Act and led efforts to overturn Citizens United and end the influence of dark money in politics.

  • Michele Frazier

Candidate for NY State Senate in District 51, running to unseat Republican Peter Oberacker

Michele grew up in her family’s greenhouse business in Oneonta - one of the largest geranium growers in the state. A former Oneonta City Council member, she advocated for summer childhood programming to help working families, a community dog park, improving energy efficiency for the city to save taxpayer money, and making local parks family-friendly smoke-free zones.

Michele now lives in Delhi where she is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi. She lives with her spouse and three sons, two of whom are neurodivergent. Michele is also a Real Estate Agent for a locally-owned real estate company.
